Taskwren Elite Badge Policy

Elite is a recognition of a Tasker's track record on Taskwren, awarded by the Taskwren team after reviewing their work on the platform — the jobs they have completed, the reviews customers have left, how reliably they turn up and communicate, and whether any complaints have been upheld against them.

It is a judgement made by a person, not a score calculated by a formula. There is no rating you can reach or number of jobs you can complete that entitles you to the badge, and we do not publish a threshold, because there isn't one. Awarding it, and withdrawing it, is a decision the Taskwren team makes and has to be able to justify — every decision is recorded with a written reason.

This matters more than what it does mean, so it is set out plainly. Elite is not:

• Not identity verification. Whether a Tasker's identity has been checked is shown separately, as "Identity verified". Elite says nothing about it, and a Tasker can hold one without the other.
• Not a background or criminal-record check. Taskwren does not carry out DBS or criminal-record checks, and the badge does not represent one.
• Not proof of insurance, licensing or qualifications. Taskers are independent and are responsible for their own insurance, licences and certification. Where a service legally requires a qualification, that is a matter between you and the Tasker.
• Not employment. Elite Taskers are not employees, workers or agents of Taskwren.
• Not a guarantee. It is not a warranty of quality, safety, availability or outcome on any particular job, and it does not change your rights or ours under the Terms & Conditions.

If a badge ever seems to be claiming one of these things, it is wrong and we want to know — please contact support.

Elite is awarded by the Taskwren team. It is not for sale: it cannot be bought, sponsored, subscribed to, or obtained by paying a higher fee or advertising with us. No Tasker has ever been charged for it and none will be.

It does not change where a Tasker appears in search. Search results are ordered by the filters and sort you choose; holding the badge does not move a Tasker up the list, and not holding it does not push them down.

The badge can be withdrawn — for example if the standard of work falls, if complaints are upheld, or if a Tasker breaches the Terms. When that happens:

• the Tasker is notified,
• the reason is recorded, and
• the earlier decision is not deleted. The badge's history is kept as a permanent record of every grant and withdrawal.

A withdrawn badge can be restored later if the concern is resolved. Restoring it does not erase the withdrawal from the record.

A Tasker who believes the badge has been wrongly withheld or wrongly withdrawn can ask us to look at it again through Support in the app or on the website. Tell us it is about the Elite badge. We will explain the reason for the decision and review it, and we will tell you the outcome. Because every decision carries a written reason, there is always something to review — that is why the reason is mandatory.

Taskwren previously showed two other badges, Prime and Trusted. Both have been retired.

Neither had published criteria, and "Trusted" in particular stated a conclusion about a person that Taskwren had not established — which is precisely the problem this policy exists to prevent.

Nobody was converted. A Tasker who held Prime or Trusted was not automatically made Elite: the badges meant different things, and no one had made an Elite decision about them. Their record of having held the earlier badge is preserved, and they are considered for Elite on the same basis as everyone else.

This policy is versioned. The date it took effect is shown at the top of the page, and the list of previous versions and when each took effect is shown at the bottom. Changes to the policy do not alter decisions already made.
